Hours after NFL referee Pete Morelli made a controversial call in the Steelers playoff game against the Indianapolis Colts, someone tossed a rock through the living room window of his home in Stockton, Calif.

“It’s kinda suspicious because of its close proximity to the game, but he doesn’t know if it was related to his duties as a referee, his job as a high school principal or if it was a random act of mischief,” Stockton police Lt. Thomas Wells said Wednesday.

No one was injured in the incident that occurred about 10 p.m. Sunday as Morelli, the principal at St. Mary’s High School in Stockton, and his wife were upstairs getting ready for bed, Wells said.

They heard a loud crashing noise and ran downstairs to see the broken glass and a rock the size of a softball on the living room floor. A vehicle was heard speeding away.

Though I’m sure the Stockton Police already know how to do their jobs, I would like to assure them that it is very unlikely Gary Young had anything to do with this.
