In the short tenure of Tampa Bay’s baseball franchise, there’s been one tried and true formula that has ensured at least 60 wins a season ; pack the roster with exceptional veterans who lead by example. Think of all the wise baseball minds that have passed through the home clubhouse at Tropicana Field ; Wade Boggs, Jose Canseco, Greg Vaughn, Vinny Castilla, Jose Cruz Jr……and now, 2B Roberto Alomar.

Following Alomar’s miserable stint with the New York Mets, it was suggested upon being traded to the White Sox that what Robbie really needed was a pennant race to reignite his interest in the game. Using that same logic, the battle for 4th place in the AL East should really keep him motivated.
