Three weeks after Mike Shanahan was accused of “absolute douchebaggery” in nullifying a Sebastian Janikowski game-winning FG with a last second time out (and a week after Oakland’s Lane Kiffin pulled a nearly identical stunt against Cleveland), Buffalo coach Dick Jauron succeeded in calling time just before Cowboys K Nick Folk nailed a career-best 53 yarder that would’ve given Dallas a 25-24 win as time expired.
No big deal, ‘tho. With Dallas’ winning streak riding on his foot, Folk merely split the uprights for his 2nd 53 yarder in a matter of moments. Final score : Dallas 25, Buffalo 24 – on a night Tony Romo tossed 5 INT’s. While watching Jerry Jones and T.O. jump around like little kids would ordinarily be as welcome a televised spectacle as “Grease 2” or a Charlie Rose marathon, ’tis impossible not to grin like a jackass at Jauron losing despite his successful employ of a bush tactic the NFL will hopefully outlaw before the 2008 season.
