Did you hear the one about the finesse team from Phoenix that collided with the soft squad from San Antonio, and a hockey game broke out…repeatedly?
“Dir-ty, dir-ty, dir-ty,” Stoudemire yelled out to the AT&T Center crowd after he stayed on the court for the final 3:58 with five fouls to score 26 points. “Can I get a dirty now? Now, was I out of line?”
While there’s no truth to the rumor Isiah Thomas had warned about Steve Nash about what might happen if he drove the lane brought the ball up court in a close game, there’s every chance Robert Horry took the opportunity to deliver his message to anti-war protesters all over the continent.
From ESPN…
Spurs coach Gregg Popovich told The Associated Press that he didn’t even think Horry’s foul on Nash was that bad.
“It was just an end-of-game foul and Steve fell down,” Popovich said before the penalties were announced. “I didn’t think it was such a big deal.”
