An impressive 58 minutes of football for Virginia Tech aside, full credit to no. 2 Boston College for a tremendous 4th quarter comeback on the road…and perhaps the only excuse for channel flipping in this otherwise baseball-centric household.
Mostly because “I Love New York 2” isn’t on again until Monday.
As if Rudy G.’s flip-flopping weren’t bad enough, what’s up with Philly’s Boyz II Men singing “God Bless America” at Fenway? Surely there’s a greater residency requirement than being associated with Maurice Starr?
Given how they won, what BC did was more than impressive; it was uncanny. I’ve been to Lane Stadium on numerous occasions(I live in the area), and in the last 10-12 years, Tech has been practically unbeatable at home. The breakdown of the special team on the onside kick was something that I’ve never seen since Beamer has been there, and it couldn’t have come at a worse time. As a Virginia fan, I was kinda pulling for BC, only because a VA Tech loss would give UVA sole possession of first place in the Coastal Division. That, and the fact that it’s against my nature to root for Tech.
I’m still not sure who the better team is – Va Tech, I guess. But, wow, Ryan made some ridiculous passes on that final drive…
For the first time this October, the underdog fails to drop a deuce
The funny thing is, as a lifelong VT fan, I knew all along that the Chokies would blow that game. Fucking maddening.
viginia tech is 14-3 all time on thursday nights. all three losses have come courtesy of boston college.
