the Boston Globe’s Mark Bludschen reports that Fenway Park will expand its entertainment offerings beyond, uh, Jimmy Buffet concerts.
What started out as a concept a year ago will turn into reality in December when the Boston College men’s hockey team plays a regular-season game under the lights, as well as the stars, at Fenway Park.
The details will be worked out over the next several weeks, and they could include the Boston University team as part of a doubleheader. The original idea called for such a doubleheader, with BU and BC against teams from the Midwest, possibly Michigan and Michigan State.
The possibility of having the ACC baseball tournament at Fenway Park will be discussed at the conference’s meetings this weekend in Florida.
BC will play BU in the Beanpot final next Monday night. Under a roof.
What a disgrace! Roger Bossard iis going to be pissed! (I dare anyone here to figure that reference out)
white sox groundskeeper.
Yeah, I thought that would take longer, regardless, how dare BC screw up the field he built for Fenway. RB is a grass genius.
it’s not like they’re just gonna flood the infield and start skating. they’ve put on many other damaging events (stones, the bruce spingfield guy, the guy who writes all the middle-aged alcoholic songs) since 2004.
Too bad you didn’t find a way to fit in a Butch Hobson/BeanPOT joke in there somehow.
