If you’d told most QPR fans a couple of years ago that in early 2007, Ian Holloway and Kevin Gallen would be leading a side to the FA Cup’s Elite Eight, a fair number would’ve been giddy with anticipation.

Until, that is, you told them the club in question would be Plymouth Argyle, 2-0 winners yesterday over Derby County.

Another former Rangers fixture, Ian Dowie, has once again found gainful employment, this time as manager of Coventry City.  That’s 4 managerial gigs in as many years for Dowie by my count. Even Jimmy Jackson thinks he’s moving around a bit too much.

Sunday’s $19.95 PPV special (thanks, Setanta) saw Spurs elminate Fulham with a 4-0 thumping at Craven Cottage. Robbie Keane and Dimitar Berbatov (above) each scored a pair, as the visitors are now within shouting distance of their first FA Cup in 16 years.

Supposedly, Liverpool’s John Arne Riise was on the receiving end of a beating from text-message maven Craig Bellamy after a Friday evening of karaoke gone horribly wrong.  Deadspin chose to commemorate the occasion…by running a photograph of Steven Gerrard.
