If watching Victor Zambrano pitch batting practice to the Brewers weren’t painful enough this evening, how about this amazing exchange between MSG’s Ted Robinson and Fran Healy, following Brady Clark’s 2nd inning single :
Robinson : “…that’s muscled by Clark for his 2nd hit….”
Healy : “That’s the 2nd hit he’s picked up in this game, both of them muscled into the outfield! Good hitting by Clark.”
I’d feel bad for Robinson except he’s getting paid to put up with this.
I’d tend towards “inattentive” out of those two options, but is there an option “C” for “plum retardeded?” You get spoiled with a few games on the local broadcast, if only because Keith Hernandez is occasionally off-message and really knows baseball a lot and Dave O’Brien seems to know what’s happening. This one is painful, though, and not just because V-Zam was so awful. You can actually feel Robinson inching away from Healy as he speaks. That must be a big booth.
I was sneaking a peak at the Indians/Yankees game….did Ohka give Yost the ball when he was pulled, or did he try to keep it as a souvenir?
And if this is what it took to get Mike Cameron untracked, the Mets should’ve almost-traded-him for Manny months ago.
anyone remember when healy used to call met’s games with rusty staub ? now THOSE games were something to hear. far too many profound statements for me to recall them all.
