Today’s entry in the “ill-advised remarks” category comes from Newsday’s Neil Best :

Friday on the Golf Channel, Kelly Tilghman made an unfortunate comment in jest during the Mercedes Championship.

She said today’s young players should “lynch Tiger Woods in a back alley.”

A spokesman for the channel said she immediately regretted the remark and apologized on the telecast Sunday. She also reached out to Woods’ people to express her regrets.

There’s no truth to the rumor TGC is replacing Tilghman with Fuzzy Zoeller.
