“If he’s an upgrade over Rodrigo Lopez or Antonio Bastardo, it could certainly help the Phils get back to the World Series,” writes The 700 Level’s Enrico of Philadelphia signing the 37 year old, chronically injured Pedro Martinez to a one-year deal earlier today.  Would Martinez have represented an upgrade to the Mets over Tim Redding?  Clearly, Omar Minaya didn’t think so, but Pedro had a classy reply earlier today when asked if he’d have extra motivation to, y’know, fuck over the Amazin’s.
