And to think his team has won more games this year than Isiah Thomas’
Still, this decision seems unduly harsh. Babcock was the one who claimed these Raptors wouldn’t win 33 games in ’05/06 and thus far, they’ve lived up to his expectations.
Utah has suspended C Greg Ostertag indefinitely ; some would say the league should’ve suspended him for life when they had a chance.
I feel like Babcock’s last year has been pretty strong – CV and Graham were good draft picks both of whom look like they will pan out. Trading Alston for James was a good call. Calderon looks like a starter in the NBA with plenty of upside. Sure, Arujalo was a bad pick but given Bosh, CV, and Graham, 3 out of 4 picks being players is pretty good for the NBA High School Draft.
The Carter trade sucked but back when they traded him he had way less value then he has now. Its rare you can get an even swap of a star (look at what Houston gave up for McGrady.) They should be happy they dumped off the salary of a guy who didn’t want to be there.
I feel like in another year the Raptors could be where the Warriors are today, a 500 team which has a lot of desirable pieces to land talent with if the pieces are managed and traded appropriately.
