Admittedly, I have no right to lecture anyone else on issues of customer service, public relations, etc. Most entries to the CSTB Suggestion Box receive an automated reply asking for naked photographs. That said, there does seem something really messed up when a very successful person like Steve Jobs can find the time to personally reply to the dangerously delusional, but young children are treated so harshly.
Of course, there should be a policy where everyone who writes to Apple with a crazy idea is handled with equal disdain. If Tony Victory wants part ownership of Apple, send him a bogus stock certificate giving him 100% of the company. If a 3rd grader has a scheme for ways to improve the iPod, send her a prototype that vaguely matches her description — except it only plays music from the Victory Records catalog.
