As you’ve probably read elsewhere, the proposed sale of a minority share in the NY Mets to hedge fund manager David Einhorn for $200 million was scrapped earlier today, and a non-disclosure agreement signed by Einhorn forbids him from explaining exactly why (though chances are it has nothing to do with a justifiable protest over John Franco’s appearance at Citi Field this weekend). The Ropolitans points out Georgi Vodka magnate Martin Silver — part owner of the Carolina League’s Wilmington Blue Rocks — remains eager to take over the Mets, however, if the clip below is anything to go by, even the words “acting General Manager, Jeff Wilpon” cannot be considered a more terrifying prospect :
