I’ve been asked once or twice, what, if anything, would i want to do MORE THAN ANYTHING to commemorate my 6100st birthday? I’ll admit, it was a difficult choice. Drive into the Comal Street’s White Horse with a bulldozer? Visit the Turner Curling Museum of Weyburn, Saskatchewan? Spend the afternoon with Texas Railroad Commissioner Wayne Christian and his lovely family?
These are all very attractive options, however it’s too late in the day to rent a bulldozer, the Curling Museum is closed for xmas and Commissioner Christian has previously obtained a cease and desist order against me. So with all of that mind, there is (almost) nothing else I would rather be doing on this special day than recording my 51st radio program of the year. It would not be an exaggeration to say this episode — much like the others — absolutely pisses on the alleged completion (from a great height), but that’s what 6100 combined years of musical knowledge gets you. NO WEEKS OFF over here. I’ve heard the expression “consistency is the hobgoblin of little minds”, and while I completely disagree, we do seem overdue for continued, frequent use of “hobgoblin” in countless daily situations.
