That the production values from a 1980 World Series intro are markedly different than those employed today by Fox and TBS is no surprise, but consider some additional aesthetic contrasts ;  nearly 7 minutes of preview before a commercial interruption, no expert panel discussion (how did anyone understand baseball in those days without Eric Karros to condescend to them?), and most shocking of all, actual footage of Pete Rose pretending to act like a parent.
