I’m presuming the majority of those reading this are planning on watching Sunday’s NFL Wild Card telecasts. Perhaps a few of you will make your way to the Marchesa Theater. But for those who find professional football or wrestling’s charms elusive, there’s always the annual smörgåsbord of minor league hoops action that is the D-League Showcase. And lest you worry that this year’s slate of games is lacking star power, you might wanna sit down for the following item courtesy the D-League Digest :

According to a source, NBA veteran Von Wafer has entered the NBA D-League player pool.

Wafer last played in the NBA D-League in 2006, when he was assigned by the Los Angeles Lakers to the Fort Worth Flyers. Wafer was also drafted by, and played for the Colorado 14ers in 2007.

Wafer most recently played for the Shanghai Sharks, and averaged 27.0 points, 6.6 rebounds and 3.4 assists in 5 games. Wafer will likely play during the NBA D-League Showcase, which is scheduled to begin January 5.
