Writes Ben,

I heard the lamest baseball promo today while driving. As part of the Angels/Dodger mutually beneficial marketing “war,” KLOS, LA’s “classic rock” giant, was playing a mix of AC/DC’s “Thunderstruck” with Jon Miller’s ESPN color commentary of the Yankee-Angels playoffs that lead to the Angels’ World Series. I couldn’t even tell if it was a commercial because it just went on for the entire length of the song. I thought it was an interesting choice to hype the halos beating the Yankees instead of whoever they beat in the Series.

That would be the San Francisco Giants, whom the Angels beat in the 2002 World Series. If someone in the Angels’ P.R. department thinks a victory over the Yankees is a more memorable accomplishment, I doubt they’ll get much argument from fans in Boston.
