I think we can safely assume that AC Milan prez Silva Berlusconi is no longer trying to acquire Chelsea striker Andriy Shevchenko (above, left). From Sporting Life.

The Ukrainian has struggled to make an impact since his £30million move from the San Siro and the former Italy Prime Minister has chosen to take a public view on Shevchenko’s private life – describing him as a “lap-dog” for his supermodel wife.

“A true Milanista and a real man would not have behaved like this,” he told Gazzetto dello Sport.

“At my home I’m in charge and decide what happens. Instead, when Shevchenko’s wife shouts, he runs under the bed like a lap-dog.

“His wife ordered him to London with their children, where the fog will do their lungs the world of good.”

Berlusconi’s charges are currently tied with Fiorentina, 1-1, at Gol.TV marks intermission at Stadio Artemio Franchi with their usual series of phone card ads and pitches for vanishing cream.

Recently fired Charlton manager Iain Dowie has turned down an offer to assume the same position at Hull (winners today over Cardiff, 4-1). I guess the modeling work is paying really well.
