In yet another development in the AL East arms race, the Red Sox have reached an agreement with free agent Matt Clement on a three-year, $25 million deal. Clement, 30, went 9-13 for the Cubs last year with a 3.68 ERA.
Assuming Shawn Green relents to being sent to Phoenix, there is one bright side to the Yankees getting Randy Johnson. i might be among the minority here but i really think clement will thrive pitching in front of boston’s bats. he has good stuff, he can win. of course i’m the same yahoo who expected silky d to have a better year than pedro at the start of last season.
