Not satisfied with offering Stallone Night, the Mets’ NY-Penn League affiliate Brooklyn Cyclones have the following promotional event on tap :
On August 11th, all fans — of all ages — who attend the 6pm game in superhero costumes are invited onto the field for the National Anthem, and to run the bases after the game. That night will be “Superhero Night” at KeySpan Park, and the Cyclones will be celebrating the defenders of planet earth and the guardians of the galaxy.
Strap on your capes and cowls, shine up your shields, see if the ol’ utility belt still fits, hop in the batmobile, or just fly on over to KeySpan Park on Saturday August 11th for a once-in-a-lifetime experience.
For those of us who’ve been waiting years for the Cyclones to honor Coney Island’s favorite son (above, middle), I guess this is the closest we’re likely to come.
