If the above trailer is anything to go by, filmmaker Bryan Bankovich’s 2009 short, “A Crosstown Classic” might be the Cubs/White Sox version of Jeff Krulik and John Heyn’s “Heavy Metal Parking Lot”. I’ve read nothing to indicate there are cameos from Ben Schwartz or Rob Warmowski, but I do understand there are sometimes difficulties obtaining a signed release agreement after embarrassing footage has been shot.
Ben and I are developing a sitcom to ride this wave. It stars Jim Belushi and John Cusack as brothers in a family split down the middle by the crosstown divide. The only hitch is getting past our pilot’s opening scene, in which everybody is deservingly killed in a salmonella outbreak centered on gyros sauce. We might have painted ourselves into a corner on that. It’s an early draft.
I don’t need no stinking signed releases. I’ll send you a copy if you like. Going release this fucker soon.. I swear… maybe.

Chicago … where calling someone a “yuppie” still means something. You Sox fans, you’re all jive turkeys!
Yes I said that!
