ESPN’s Peter Gammons is reporting the Dodgers have signed Nomar Garciaparra to a one year deal worth between $6 and $8 million dollars.

Considering that Garciaparra has missed 181 games over the past two seasons, that’s better than I would’ve guessed he’d received. Of course, that was before Rafael Furcal signed with The House of McCourt. Could there be a provision in place where Nomar, Furcal or J.D. Drew gets shares of the team when the owner can’t make payroll?

Garciaparra is expected to spilt his time between first base, outfield….and the disabled list.

Given McCourt and Ned Colletti’s recent fixation with former Red Sox, can an overture to Rich Garces be far behind?
