There’s a lot of red faces to go around this evening following Saturday’s 3rd round ties in the world’s eldest knockout competition ; QPR getting slugged 3-0 at home by Nottingham Forest, Aston Villa losing this morning to Sheffield United, ’04 finalists Milwall being eliminated by Wolves, and Oldham wiping out the Premiership’s Manchester City.

But no other result will bring as many smiles to faces worldwide as Conference side Exeter holding Manchester United to a scoreless draw at Old Trafford. Alex Ferguson, loathe as usual to credit the opposition, fielded a 2nd string lineup and apologized to United supporters for “the worst performance we have ever produced in the FA Cup.” The two sides will face each other again in a replay on January 19.
