…that does not include the words “Choate”, “Duke” or “rape”.  From the Toronto Star’s Alan Ryan :

Police at 52 Division confirmed yesterday that Toronto Rock coach Glenn Clark has been charged with assault as a result of an incident with a Minnesota Swarm player in the corridor near the Toronto dressing room in the moments following the Rock’s overtime loss at the ACC Friday.

The player, Sean Pollock (above, left), was in street clothes at the time, having been saddled with a first-period game misconduct for instigating a scrap with Toronto’s Cam Woods.

A native of Wallaceburg, Ont., Pollock allegedly yelled something of a taunting and/or gloating nature; Clark, allegedly fired back “ with more than words.

“Words were exchanged but, personally, I don’t think it was a major situation,” said Toronto general manager Mike Kloepfer. “There’s commentaries out there but, at this point, (to say) anybody was striking anybody is all speculation.”

The 38-year-old Clark, who played seven seasons (1999-2005) with the Rock, is in his second year as head coach. A phys-ed teacher at Bayview Secondary School, he could not be reached for comment.

Kloepfer noted that Pollock should not be immune from disciplinary action, either, because of his proximity to the Rock dressing room. The visitors’ dressing room is down a hallway, which, itself, was some 60 feet from the entrance to the Rock room.

“That’s one thing I feel comfortable with … that he (Pollock) shouldn’t have been out in that corridor on the Rock side of that hallway,” said Kloepfer. “His being there and inciting this scenario is an issue.”
