Sidney Ponson was lit up tonight in Minneapolis — no, not that way —- as the turgid Twins hurler gave up HR’s to Bobby Abreu and Alex Rodriguez on en route to an ugly 5.2 IP, 10 hits, 8 earned runs, 3 walks line.  Behind 7 strong innings from Carl Pavano — earning his first win in nearly 22 months, the Yankees clobbered Minnesota, 8-2.

I’m not sure if Bernie Williams continued to sit in with the aging Southern rockers shown above, but Repoz can’t resist asking, “The Yankees, the Allman Brothers…what’s next for Bernie..a college tour, starting at Marshall University?”

To which I can only add, there’s no truth to the rumor Cutter Brandenburg would like to speak with Williams about a tremendous career opportunity.
