Sun Yoon-Bang, that is, 3rd round draft choice of the D-League’s Reno Bighorns. Professional responsibilities in the Motor City prevented me from attending tonight’s NBDL Draft Party at Austin’s Champions Bar & Grill (4th Street, outside the Convention Center), and I can only hope local police managed to control the overflow crowd.
The New York Daily News’ Frank Isola suggested today that estranged Knicks PG Stephon Marbury might begin workouts with Abraham Lincoln High’s boys hoops squad. Who says you can’t go home?
Lincoln coach Dwayne Morton confirmed that he has spoken with Marbury, who led the school to the city title in 1995, about practicing with the team. Morton added that no specific date or time was addressed.
“If he does I’d be excited about it and I know the kids would be delighted,” Morton said. “I know he’s thinking about it.”
We’ve seen how well working with young people worked out for Ryan Leaf, and I’m confident such an act of charity would be a similar tonic for Marbury’s career.
