An MRI of Baron Davis’ sprained left ring finger was described as “inconclusive” by the LA Times’ Lisa Dilman on Saturday. In the 48 hours since, a more decisive diagnosis was appararently made, if we’re to believe the following scoop that appeared just an hour ago on the Boston Globe’s website, courtesy hoops scribe Marc J. An NBA source told The Boston Globe on Sunday night that the Clippers are fearful that newcomer star guard Baron Davis could miss as many as 4-6 weeks due to a sprained ring finger on his left hand that could require surgery. The two-time All-Star is expected to learn how long he will be out and whether he needs surgery during a doctor evaluation on Monday. Davis sprained the ring finger on his left hand at practice last Friday.
