…because when that day arrives, perhaps ESPN and NBA TV will have ceased their once-every-15-minutes showings of the worst trailer in modern cinema since the promo for “Beverly Hills Cop 3”.
Isn’t the purpose of a trailer to convey something or other about the movie that would make it seem, y’know, appealing? I realize that Vince Vaughn acting like an asshole is box office gold, but surely the public’s patience has been pushed to its limits? Likewise, a decrepit John Travolta dancing with Uma Thurman has not only been done before, but doing so in the “Get Shorty” sequel only ensures that some cynical writer-director will attempt to plug a similar scene into an action-comedy of some type, 5-10 years into the future.
