Suffice to say entertainer / occasional Steve Somers caller Jerry Seinfeld doesn’t share the opinion of former Mets P Shawn Marcum, who recently declared, “the guys in the (SNY) booth are beyond clueless.” The New York Post reports Seinfeld will sit in with Chris Carlin and Bobby Ojeda during Tuesday night’s “Mets First Pitch” pregame show, followed by a stint alongside Gary Cohen, Keith Hernandez and Ron Darling during that night’s visit by the San Francisco Giants.
“Four guys who love to talk, sharing one broadcast booth sounds like a bad idea on its face. I don’t even know if the chairs will fit,” said Seinfeld, creator and host of the Emmy-nominated web show “Comedians In Cars Getting Coffee.” “But to spend an evening with Keith, Ron and Gary, I will stand if I have to. Those guys, and the incredible Bobby Ojeda, are the all-star team of baseball broadcasting.”
