The NY Post’s Andrew Marchand has news that will surely stun the Pulitzer committe — Stephen A. Smith will be writing fewer columns for the Philadelphia Daily news.

ESPN’s Stephen A. Smith began his daily two-hour local 1050-radio program this week. In August, he starts his daily hour-long ESPN TV show. He still is an ESPN NBA analyst. He also is on SportsCenter and ESPNews. Plus, he writes a column for the Philadelphia Inquirer. Quite frankly, something has got to give, right?

It has. Smith, 37, has cut the amount of columns (and his pay, he noted) about in half at the Inquirer. For ESPN’s NBA coverage, Smith will only do Shootaround, SportsCenter and ESPNews.
