Patrick Saunders has a typical “the Rockies are expecting big things from Byung-Hyun Kim” piece in today’s Denver Post, and while this is hardly the most exciting news item of the month, the numbers are pretty sobering.

The Rockies hope Kim will nail down the fourth spot in the starting rotation this spring. In 2005, Kim had a 4.50 ERA in 21 games (13 starts) at Coors Field, the fourth-lowest home ERA in club history (minimum 81 innings).

Small sample size or not, when Byung-Hyun Kim is amongst the franchise’s best all-time home starters, well, now you know why some fans in Denver are already looking forward to football season.
