If his two starts against Tampa are anything to go by, the only thing standing in the way of Kris Benson winning 20 games in the American League is, well, the fact that he can’t face the Devil Rays every 5 days.
Baltimore have been having a bad stretch. A bad decade, actually. But the organization can take some solace in having fleeced the Mets with the Melvin Mora/Mike Bordick trade…and the Benson/Julio swap might turn out to be even more lopsided.
(ADDENDUM : In all fairness, it should’ve been pointed out that Benson’s 2nd strong outing against Tampa Bay occurred without Jorge Cantu nor Aubrey Huff in the lineup).
