It’s not Beltan-money, but for £6.3 million, Liverpool have captured Spanish striker Fernando Morientes.
Morientes (above), deemed surplus to requirements in Real Madrid’s superstar lineup, tore up the Champions League last year while on loan to finalists Monaco. Liverpool have been in desperate need of a proven scorer with the earlier departure of Michael Owen, Djibril Cisse suffering a broken leg and Milan Baros’ hamstring woes.
