Al Michaels (above) is one of those guys who wants to work both sides of Main Street. He wants to be regarded as both neo-hip and above-the-fray sophisticated.

Last week, appearing on ABC’s Jimmy Kimmel show to beat the drums for the NFL on ABC, Michaels indulged and even rapped with co-guest 50 Cent, a vulgar, violent and hate-promoting gangsta rapper a truly cool and sophisticated (and secure) TV big shot would have refused to indulge, let alone appear with.

Considering what happened when The Game fell out with 50, maybe Al was just playing it safe?
