Mets 1, Dodgers 0 (top of the 5th)

Endy Shernoff-Chavez’ bunt single  (above) led off the third, with the Mets’ RF advancing to 2nd on Hong Chih Kuo’s subsequent wild pitch. Tom Glavine moved Chavez to third on a swinging two-strike bunt ; Chavez scored the night’s only run thus far on Jose Reyes’ fielder’s choice, 6-3 groundout that Rafael Furcal barely handled.

Glavine allowed singles to Nomar and Lt. Dangle with one out in the 4th, then came back to blow away J.D. Drew and induce Russell Martin to fly out to Carlos Beltran.

The gentleman two seats to my right is reading a textbook on embryology, and “Extinction : Bad Genes Or Bad Luck?” I’m pretty sure Lt. Dangle has copies of each in his locker.

David Wright and Cliff Floyd each hit drives to the warning track in right and right-center respectively to end the 4th. Bob Horner writes in to say those were both home runs in Atlanta or Japan.
