OK, not really. But a day after the New York Post’s Bart Hubbach gleefully reported his paper (along with the New York Daily News) was no longer provided free of charge in the Mets clubhouse, so as to avoid alleged “bad vibes”, NewsCorp’s NYC tabloid has proposed a new tone for their infamous back cover headlines.
Presumably, an all-too-rare 2 game sweep at Turner Field isn’t worthy of such favorable coverage. Of the Mets’ .406 hitting center fielder (2 singles last night extending a hitting streak to 16 games), Mets Blog‘s Brandon Eddy asks, “other than the sun, is there anything hotter right now than Carlos Beltran at the plate?”
I hate to nitpick, but a microwaved apple turnover comes to mind.
