Helped in no small measure by Chan Ho Park, The Mets closed to within 3.5 games of the first place Marlins with Friday night’s 7-4 defeat of the Phillies. Of relievers J.J. Putz and Francisco Rodriguez, noted Mets expert Will Leitch wrote “having those two guys at the end of games is a luxury every other team in baseball would love”, though on this occasion, it was more of a necessity. But let’s instead turn our attentions to Wednesday’s matinee defeat to the Marlins, a contest not only attended by a couple of CSTB’s leading lights, but also apparently, the vlogosphere’s latest star, Mets superfan Ronni.
I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again: Ol’ Emo Bangs makes me ashamed to say that I support a certain baseball team from a certain town whose biggest claim to fame is a monument to the people who decided to leave.
At least I can take comfort in my opinion that U of I has the most assholic student body in the Big Televen.
“U of I has the most assholic student body in the Big Televen.”
I guess you’ve never met a Madtown Trustafarian. I assume there aren’t any assholes at Michigan, because the Big House doesn’t have bathrooms.
HSCS: While trustafarians are bad, fratboys (which U of I attracts like none other) are a lot worse.
And I don’t really mind Michigan. OSU, on the other hand…
The only U of I grads I know are mechanical engineers, and they are dorks. They never would have cut it in my old fraternity (at a D-III school!). And seriously, UW Madison was always my fave Big Ten school to visit.
Re: Ronni – How long before MLB shuts down his footage of the game?
“Re: Ronni – How long before MLB shuts down his footage of the game?”
I would presume any moment now.
Every time I see Ronni I think “Ron Cey?”
i have a mind to report Ronni to Bud’s minions myself–how are the rest of us bloggers supposed to compete with this? First he has a set, then a sidekick, now game footage? The bar’s too high. I just can’t compete.
