Authorities say Shaquille O’Neal was present during a botched child pornography raid last month while working in Virginia as a reserve sheriff’s deputy.
The Miami Heat center denies taking part in serving the search warrant at the wrong house in Gretna on September 23rd, but Bedford County Sheriff Lieutenant Michael Harmony says O’Neal was there.
The 13-time NBA All-Star has already been sworn in as a Bedford County Deputy and currently serves as the spokesman for the Safe Surfin’ foundation, a part of Bedford County’s Blue Ridge Thunder team which hunts down child predators on the web. O’Neal also works as a certified firearms reserve police officer in Miami Beach.
The Gretna man who owns the mistaken home says the raid definitely occurred, but he didn’t specifically see the basketball star in all the commotion.
