“It seems impossible to imagine that there are human beings in our society who don’t know it’s wrong to wear redface, skewer an effigy of a Native American Indian, or continue to support professional sports mascots that tokenize, demean or dehumanize Native Americans.”

“If you wouldn’t wear a New York Jews or San Francisco Chinamen hat, you shouldn’t encourage sports teams to use Native images, names or iconography.”  –  Joanna Schroeder, The Goodmen Project.

Not only am I loathe to align myself with a website that claims, “guys today are neither the mindless, sex-obsessed buffoons nor the stoic automatons our culture so often makes them out to be” (that’s because they’re BOTH), what’s stopping Schroeder from naming names? We don’t have to imagine Dan Snyder or Dino Costa.
