Not to make light of what could be a serious matter, but my first reaction was, “finally, someone is willing to spend quality time with Andy Reid’s family”. From the Arizona Republic’s Steve Rivera.

University of Arizona coach Lute Olson has announced that he is taking a leave of absence and will be away from his team for some time.

Olson, 73, reassured fans that the leave was not due to a health scare, but rather a personal matter that needed his undivided attention.

At a news conference Sunday, Arizona athletic director Jim Livengood confirmed it was not a health-related issue, saying numerous times that it was a personal issue.

Olson has asked for his family’s privacy, and Livengood and O’Neill have asked the media to respect those wishes.

It was just last February that Olson angrily addressed rumors he was suffering from Parkinson’s Disease.
