Not coming to a future episode of the Dan Patrick radio show : Reggie Miller and Mark Jackson square off over who receives the best financial advice.
From the AP:
LOS ANGELES — A business manager who embezzled $2.6 million from former NBA player Mark Jackson was sentenced Wednesday to two years in a halfway house.
A federal judge said she didn’t send Bruce J. Breger to prison because he was making progress in a 12-step program for his gambling addiction and has started an Internet business with the goal of making enough money to repay Jackson and others.
U.S. District Judge Christina Snyder noted in a previous hearing that Jackson didn’t want Breger, his former business manager, imprisoned.
The 43-year-old Breger was ordered to pay $2.6 million in restitution to Jackson and another $8.4 million to others. The others include former NBA point guard Jerome Richardson, who is owed $4 million.
It is nothing short of inspiring that Breger has started an internet business. We can only hope that Rick Tochhet isn’t involved.
