NBC.com’s Jim Scott reports amongst those hoping to cash in on Barack Obama’s rise to the U.S. Presidency is Brooklyn resident Mitchell Rose, who’s flogging a pair of Obama-branded sneaks (link taken from Ball Don’t Lie). I don’t recall any Dick Cheney Signature Outdoorsman Actionware prior to GWB’s swearing in 8 years ago,but perhaps I was looking in the wrong section at Cabela’s.
Rose’s “Obama ’08” sneakers sell for $59.99 and come in white and black. The name “Obama” is stitched to the heel of the shoe, and the number 44 is stitched to the tongue in honor of the soon-to-be 44th President of the United States.

Rose is selling the sneakers from his car in New York City, but he plans to head to Washington D.C. for Obama’s inauguration. The price of the sneakers will drop to $44.99 after the inauguration in honor of the 44th President.
The sneakers have mini boxing gloves stitched along the laces that glow in the dark.
That shoe looks like it was made from reconstituted candy cigarettes (which might give Les Blank some ideas, but never mind).
Seeing just how many shirts and related items were left around today, I’d recommend in hindsight he just not travel to DC
