Neagle signing with Tampa Bay won’t impact the Rockies financially, other than if they are held accountable for Neagle’s $10 million salary for 2005. Then the major- league minimum salary of $316,000 that Tampa Bay will pay Neagle if he is in the big leagues would go to the Rockies to offset a minimal amount of the guarantee.
