Fans of the California burger chain In-N-Out Burger say Chadders in American Fork is the closest you can get to and In-N-Out burger in Utah.
But that may not be the case soon, and the greasy California-based institution is taking exception to Chadders similar style.
In-N-Out has filed a trademark infringement lawsuit against Chadders.
In-N-Out says everything from Chadders building to its menu is a rip-off of In-N-Out Burger.
They say even the way the food at Chadders is packaged is the same.
Now a federal judge will decide if Chadders is too similar.
In-N-Out Burger has plans to open their first Utah location near St. George by early 2008.
With all due respect to Utah’s new kids on the burger block, someone let me know when you order a pile of meat and cheese that looks like this.
That Chadders sign looks like it has a rat in the place where the meat should be. Maybe they’re ripping off Disney, too.
I didn’t find Chadders food as appealing as In-N-Outs. The hamburgers at least. The friest were enjoyable and the Shakes too.. almost spot on from In-N-Outs. I worked for In-N-Out and really wish I had one here in Utah.
Poor Chadders , I hope that In-N-Out doesn’t completely destroys them.
The InO lawsuit against Chadder’s is a load of crap. Read the court documents and get my own personal thoughts here: http://www.timschreiber.com/2007/06/in-n-out-sues-chadders.html
