During the 3rd quarter of tonights Celtics/Knicks tilt at MSG, we were treated to a once-in-a-lifetime meeting of the minds ; Al Trautwig interviewed stupor striker Wayne Rooney, sitting courtside just two chairs to the right of Jimmy Fallon.  Inquired Al,

“The Knicks are a little bit like Manchester United in that they’re famous, well-known and have a lot of high-priced players. Are your fans as tough on your team when you’re having a bad game?”

For perhaps the first and last time in his public life, Wayne Rooney came off like the smartest person on the screen.

I’d really like to see Alex Ferguson’s reaction to the above comparison after somehow explained to him exactly who Isiah Thomas is.
