Now I’m persuaded. A Sammy deal with DC or KC makes more sense to me this week than all the Mets speculation of previous months. With Alou gone, Jim Hendry has more money to play with, so maybe eating some of Sammy’s contract to free even more cash up to deal for Beltran will happen. The Angels are out of the Beltran race and Beltran has already let it be known that NYC is a second choice for him. Also, if Sammy is in DC, John McCain can personally taste test all of Sammy’s meals for steroids and Popeye level spinach.
