Trail Blazers leading scorer and rebounder LaMarcus Aldridge will miss at least the next week of action after a magnetic resonance imaging test on Monday revealed he has plantar fasciitis in his right foot.Aldridge, who is averaging 18.7 points and 7.7 rebounds, has been fitted with a walking boot, one day after he scored 24 points against Milwaukee. He did not practice Monday and did not travel with the team to Salt Lake City, where the Blazers (8-12) face the division leading Jazz (13-8) on Tuesday.
“The doctors are telling us at least a week,” coach Nate McMillan said Monday night. “It could calm down sooner, or it could be longer. We just know if he continued playing on it, there was a risk.”
McMillan said he will start Channing Frye at power forward tonight against the Jazz.
