Who does Ron Gardenhire have to blow to win this award?
Then again, considering the voters are the esteemed members of the Baseball Writers Association, perhaps that would be too heavy a price to pay.

Perhaps Gardenhire blowing the ALDS lost him the award? The guy’s lips have to be hella chapped after losing Games 2 & 4.
Hey-
Came across your blog today. Good stuff. Interesting post on the Green-Piazza trade. I wouldn’t pull the trigger.
Noticed you were a huge sports fan. Hoping you could add a blogroll link to my College Basketball Blog, http://collegeball.blogspot.com. I’d very much appreciate a link on your site.
And would gladly return the favor, adding a link from my site to yours.
Thanks!

David – considering the votes for the BBWA’s post-season awards were tallied before the playoffs began, I don’t think Gardenhire’s decisions against the Yankees were held against him. And if the playoffs and World Series counted, Terry Francona would’ve probably finished higher.
Yoni – I’ll be sure to check out your blog, thanks for bringing that to our attention, but CSTB’s links are comprised of sites I frequently visit (some more than others) and I don’t as a practice, trade links. If someone that I link to chooses to reciprocate, that’s their prerogative, but I wouldn’t ask, nor would asking me make a difference one way or another.
Damn, I forgot about the voting being tabulated prior to the post-season. Anyhoo, Gardenhire would probably have to pull a 100-win season from somewhere to get taken seriously as a MOY candidate, given the paucity of competition in the Central. With the Royal’s luck, and the White Sox’s ineptitude, and the Indians’ resurgence, I don’t see it happening.
To his credit, I’m surprised all the young studs Los Twinkies has rotting on his bench haven’t pulled a junta on him & the front office for not finding someplace (in Minnesota, or somewhere else) for them to play. Pulling off that minor miracle deserves at least a gift certificate or a Best Buy card.
