Oakland SS Bobby Crosby and Milwaukee OF Jason Bay won their respective leagues Rookie Of The Year awards today, the former coming just one vote short of a unanimous election. This recognition is especially gratifying for the young Crosby given all the brutal beatings he withstood at the hands of his father, Bing.
Padres SS Khalil Greene, sidelined down the stretch, came in 2nd in the NL voting. Mets SS/2B Kaz Matsui received one 3rd place vote, which either says there weren’t many qualified candidates or someone has a cruel sense of humor.
