From Fox Sports’ Jay Glazer :
Bears CB Ricky Manning, Jr. has a meeting with the commissioner’s office scheduled for this Wednesday to discuss possible NFL-sanctioned ramifications for Manning pleading no contest to beating a man and uttering anti-Semitic slurs in the process. Manning is likely facing a fine and/or a suspension of one or two games.
After hearing of the slurs, FOXSports.com phoned several Bears players as well as head coach Lovie Smith. All said that Manning denies saying anything about the victim being Jewish and insisted that the person he allegedly assaulted was not Jewish in the first place.
Though I’m not sure what the victim not actually being Jewish has to do with anything, perhaps the Bears should’ve asked someone other than Steve Lyons.
